Buses and transport has been running in the blood of the Young’s family for generations. Our business has been operating for more than 65 years and for a good part of that, our workshop manager David Young has been married to Karyl Young. Although not from the Young blood line, it would seem Karyl Young’s achievements are outshining ours. Earlier this month, Karyl was awarded the highest honor in Queensland School Sport, a life Membership.
Karyl is employed as the Head of Information Technology and Business at Emmaus College in Rockhampton. She has received this award because of her oustanding demonstration of leadership and volunteered in school sport for no less than 10 years. For Karyl, volunteering her time as the Tennis Team Manager of the Capricornia Regional 13-19 years group, has been a 24 year affair. But for this achiever, it doesn’t stop there.
- Queensland School Sport State Championship Organiser 1993, 2001, 2011 and 2016
- Queensland School Sport 13-18 years State Team Manager in 2002, 2003 and again in 2007
- Queensland School Sport Treasure Tennis Committee since 2005.
