UPDATE as of 15 January 2019: The detour will remain in place from Thursday 17 January to Friday 18 January 2019 between the hours of 7am and 5pm daily. School services are not operating during this time due to school holidays so they won’t be effected. Dates and times are subject to weather conditions and may vary. The road closures are necessary to complete concrete works within the newly constructed roundabout.
UPDATE as of 13 December 2018: The detour will remain in place until Friday 14th December 2018
Livingstone Shire Council is advising that the eastern section of Barmaryee Road will be closed to all traffic from 7am Monday 10th to Wednesday 12th December with work occurring from 7am to 6pm daily. This article should be read by passengers that use our general or school services.
General services
All Young’s Bus services will follow the recommended detour and travel via Yeppoon Road to the Tanby Road roundabout through to Yeppoon Central and return for Rockhampton bound services. School service s 1704 will detour through Kingfisher drive to Nevallan Drive through to Emu Parade. All students boarding between Nevallan Drive and Old Rocky Road will be required to wait at the top of Nevallan Drive at 7.46am for this service.
School services
The 1704 school service for students boarding between Nevallan and Rockhampton Road (including Divine street stop) will be impacted. The bus stop will be moved to Nevallan Road as we cannot turn around further up the road towards the closure. Students who use this service should consider catching the bus on the corner of Nevallan Dr & Barmaryee Road (pictured below – click image for larger version). The red section along Barmaryee Road is closed to all traffic.
