Earlier this year, The Morning Bulletin journalist Melanie Plane published “The worst behaved schools in Capricornia”. The report revealed three schools in CQ had suspension numbers approaching in the vicinity of 500 for the year 2016.
Since reading this report, Young’s Bus Service decided to analyse the data it has captured relating to transport misconduct on the school busses and correlate it against the school suspension report. We wanted to determine if there is a relationship between the two. Although the original report by The Morning Bulletin included 27 schools, Young’s Bus Service transport misconduct data only relates to school bus routes we service. This is why our data will display an N/A in the Transport Misconducts column.
Similarly with school suspensions, one student may receive multiple disciplinary transport misconducts during a school year.
Here are our findings.
