Since January 2016, we’ve started to name each of the buses in our fleet. This campaign has seen Young’s Bus Service receive national exposure and many entries for the community-driven quest to name the fleet. The 35 vehicle fleet carries over 3000 passengers per day across Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast. Giving the bus a name is a great way to give recognition to important local identities and causes.
The named fleet so far consists of Project Booyah, Jason Rich & Know it, Name it, Stop it.
We are now in the final stages of naming our fourth bus. It’s in memory of a local hero who lost his life to save another. A man who earned two bravery medals for his actions. A volunteer firefighter that made the ultimate sacrifice for his community.
