Changes to Gracemere school bus services

Passengers that utilise our school bus services in Gracemere can expect route changes to come into effect on the 27th January 2021.

These changes have an enormous benefit for the Gracemere community because parents of school students will no longer have to drop their children off at Gracemere State School, Waraburra State School or St Paul’s State School, to catch a service to Rockhampton. Children will instead board the bus at a bus stop closer to their residential address.

8 services have been redesigned by Young’s Bus Service after much lobbying and collaboration with the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads (TransLink Division). The changes, in summary, reroute the school services through residential built-up areas and reduce the congestion at all three Gracemere primary schools.

The services that have been changed are as follows:

• Route S134: Gracemere (Grey) – The Cathedral College
• Route S134B: Gracemere (Red) – Rockhampton Grammar School – Rockhampton State High School
• Route S422: Gracemere (Blue) – Rockhampton State High School
• Route S556: Gracemere (Green) – The Cathedral College
• Route S591: Gracemere (Yellow) – Rockhampton State High School
• Route S641: Gracemere (White) – Rockhampton State High School
• Route S676: Gracemere (Purple) – The Cathedral College – Rockhampton State High School
• Route S861: Gracemere (Pink) – Rockhampton State High School

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. My child is an existing Young’s Bus Service passenger and goes to Primary School in Gracemere. Will this affect me?
   NO. There are no changes to these routes. Your child will catch the bus as they were.
   


2. Last year my child caught the bus to primary school but this year they are in high school. Will this affect me?
   YES. You will receive correspondence via email soon. In the meantime please locate the relevant route from the above list and apply for the service by clicking Apply Online.
   


3. My child has never caught the bus before but this year I want them to catch the bus. What do I do?
