Within the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS) which is administered by the Department of Transport and Main Roads is a requirement to have conveyance committees for all kilometre based school services.
What is a bus conveyance committee?
A group of parents or guardians of eligible students who are travelling on a kilometre based school service.
Why are they needed?
So that the school bus service meets the needs of the students for which it was established.
Conveyance Committees assist with issues such as:
- Student behaviour
- Road conditions
- Bus stops
- Timetable
- Monitoring performance of bus operator

Currently School Bus Conveyance Committees are required for Gracemere and Capricorn Coast areas.
