Held across Queensland mid-September, Disability Action Week brings everyone together.
Disability Action Week is hosting their annual Beach Day Out between 9:30am and 2pm, at Emu Park’s Bell Park and beach front, Friday September 20.
Beach Day Out is a free, inclusive, family friendly event that provides accessible activities that the whole community can participate in. No one misses out!
Activities include African drumming, face painting, kite making & flying, hand-cycling, sandcastles, jumping castles, art & crafts. As well, a musical gathering brought together Rockhampton Accommodation Support & Respite Services family & friends includes singing, creative sounds, dancing & body percussion.
This inclusive event is easily accessible via the Route 20 Capricorn Coast service travelling from Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Zilzie to Emu Park.
From Yeppoon:
Route 20 leaves Yeppoon Central 8:52am arriving at Emu Park 9:28am

Route 21 leaves Gracemere Shopping World at 9:05am, 9:30am or 10:35am arriving at either Bolsover St or Stocklands. Then catch the Route 20 service at 9:45am or 11:05am to Emu Park.
Bus times from Mount Morgan:
Route 22 leaves Mount Morgan at 8:00am or 11:00am arriving at either Bolsover St or Stocklands. Then catch the Route 20 service at 9:00am or 9:45am to Emu Park.
The Young’s Emu Park bus stop is located next to Bell Park and built to Commonwealth disability standards. Accessibility features include concrete access paths which span all around the bus stop and also lead you directly to Bell Park. There are maneuvering areas for wheelchairs, allocated spaces, ramps and boarding devices. The Emu Park bus stop is well signed with disabled toilets also accessible via wide concrete path in nearby Bell Park.
