Accessible vehicles are designed with low floors, wide doorways and aisles, brightly coloured handrails, wheelchair ramps and space for 2 wheelchairs. This makes for easier access for those passengers with strollers, prams, wheelchairs, the visually impaired or any person with a disability or impaired mobility.
Youngs Bus Service has a number of these accessible vehicles and our timetables depict which trips are accessible by showing a wheelchair symbol above the column.
For those wheelchair passengers –
- Wait for the driver to lower ramp.
- Use one of the 2 wheelchair spaces provided on each side of the bus.
- Position the wheelchair in this area and apply wheelchair brakes while bus is in motion.
