At Young’s, we realise the importance of technology and as such have embraced it. We were one of the first transport providers in Australia to roll out our own smart card ticketing system. In late 2013, we connected all our buses to the Internet for the purposes of Live Timetabling. Just recently we have begun making improvements to our Live Timetabling system to provide our customers increased accuracy and reliability.
For over 16 years, we have developed our own in-house software application called TranSIT. It’s short for Transport Student Information Tracking. TranSIT is a system that properly manages the movement of students through our bus network. The program TranSIT does this by recording information in relation to students and their travels. TranSIT is developed in a way to maximise the use of any information collected as part of the daily workings of the business and enable Young’s Bus Service to better serve their customers.
